Iron-On
A heat-activated adhesive backing that fuses to fabric with a household iron. The most popular option — fast to apply, no sewing required.
Best for: cotton & polyester fabricsVelcro (Hook & Loop)
A detachable hook-and-loop backing so the same patch can be moved between jackets, bags, or vests. Great for tactical and swappable gear.
Best for: tactical gear, removable useSew-On
No adhesive at all — just a clean edge ready to be stitched on by hand or machine. The most durable option for items that get washed often.
Best for: uniforms, heavy-wash itemsAdhesive
A peel-and-stick backing for hard, non-fabric surfaces like laptops, helmets, or coolers. Not intended for anything that gets washed.

Merrowed Edge
A tightly stitched border wraps fully around the patch, reinforcing the edge against fraying. The classic, traditional patch look.
Hot-Cut Edge
The edge is heat-sealed instead of stitched, allowing for tighter, more intricate die-cut shapes with no visible border.
